Just think of the positive impact you could have if you organized all of those forum answers according to an outline that created the table of contents for a user manual.

Since the code is frozen, you won't have to bear the cost of updating the manuals, just write them once. In the mean time, - for the next few years - some documentation for 9.6.2 seems reasonable. Unless there is some radical change in the direction of development, you are many years away from convincing Eagle users to migrate to 360.

I spent 4 frustrating days with Fusion 360 before I discovered Eagle for Windows was in the same download. The flaw in your logic is this - Fusion 360 for ECAD is nowhere near ready.

BTW - 360 does not have a user manual either. You are pinning your hopes on Fusion 360, the mechanical CAD tool to which you are trying to append an ECAD package. This fact might be at the core of your department's unwillingness to document 9.6.2. Many users don't realize Eagle is a "dead" program, 9.6.2 is the final release of the product.

I find it a stunning failure of management that your considerable talent as a support engineer is squandered, each response you post is a piece of the greater puzzle, the puzzle pieces scattered to the wind. The failure of this support approach is strongly evidenced by the number of times the same questions are posted, over and over, scattered across the various Eagle discussion forums at AutoDESK and elsewhere. I can't find the post that instigated your response to me today. (I've posted to this forum more than once and can’t find any of my posts - even though I bookmarked them! - they disappear). I would wager that you spend most of your day writing these posts- sprinkling tidbits of your valuable knowledge across a wasteland of disorganized web pages. So learning Eagle is strewn with stumbling blocks created by AutoDESK. The forums are impractical because they are impossible to navigate.

The videos, even though they are very well done, are not practical as a real-time reference source, no one can take 20 minutes each to watch a series of videos until they find the one that answers the question that is holding up their project. Jorge - I recognize your name as the person who creates most of the video tutorials for Eagle, answers most of the forum questions for Eagle, and is likely the individual with the most complete knowledge of the tool's inner workings. There must be a reason for this, but I can't figure it out. Other times, it only changes one color and works as it should. So when I am finished I have changed the color on both layers and still have the problem of two layers with the same color. If I pick a new color, the selected layer changes color to the selected one, but #sometimes# it also changes another layer with the same color. If I click on the Color, I get a Color dialog that allows me to pick a color. In "Layer Settings" I can double click on the layer color, and get another dialog that shows Color, Highlight, and Fillstyle colors. New Eagle - the Eagle with NO user manual - has a menu called the View menu, and in that menu is the "Layer Settings" selection.

That command is found in an older version referenced in the obsolete manual to which you refer.

My version of Eagle has no "Display" command. Your latest response is a perfect example. It is poorly written, incomplete, and applies to some earlier version of Eagle that has little in common with 9.6.2, the latest version. I know your intentions are good, but you have no idea the level of frustration experienced when people refer me to that useless manual. Here is my response to your post – the post I can not find. You responded telling me to look in the manual. I have colors on two layers changing at the same time – sometimes. I am posting this here because after an hour of searching, I cannot find the post that instigated your response to me.
